Identify the delivery system first
Record the machine and lubrication-system maker/model, whether supply is external or through the tool, and the current product reference. State whether the existing process uses an MQL oil, a neat cutting oil or a water-mix fluid. Do not assume those descriptions are interchangeable.
SKF describes MQL as an oil-air delivery process. Its LUBRILEAN manual limits lubricant use to approved products and warns against unapproved mixing. Treat those as requirements for the specified SKF equipment, not as approval of any FLUTEX oil.
Ask for the documents for the exact offered product
| Document or confirmation | What to check |
|---|---|
| Technical Data Sheet (TDS) | Exact product name/code, revision, intended process and declared properties with their test conditions. |
| Safety Data Sheet (SDS) | Matching product identity and a current revision for the intended supply. Have the responsible workplace personnel review its handling, storage and exposure information. |
| Equipment suitability | Written confirmation against the lubrication-system requirements, including any permitted viscosity range and approval restrictions. |
| Application evidence | Work material/grade, tool, operation and the conditions under which the proposed fluid has been evaluated. |
| Supply identity | Offered grade, packaging, quantity, destination and batch/document identification supplied with the order. |
Do not compare isolated numbers
A viscosity value needs its unit, temperature and test reference. A flash-point value needs its documented test method. Neither number alone establishes that a fluid is suitable for your atomizer, safe for a specific workplace or effective for your operation.
Likewise, the word ester does not by itself confirm biodegradability, food contact, skin safety, non-flammability or compatibility with every material. Request the exact claim and supporting document for the offered product instead of inferring it from the base-fluid description.
Describe aluminum machining accurately
Include the alloy if known, operation, tool type, machine and delivery arrangement. Explain what you need to improve, such as residue, downstream cleaning, finish or tool life. These are evaluation criteria, not performance promises for an unidentified oil.
Ask how the proposed product is to be evaluated against your current process and what the equipment maker requires before a change. Do not use a general oil enquiry to select pressure, dosing or operating parameters.
Send a complete supply enquiry
- Machine and MQL unit nameplates or exact model references.
- Current fluid name and its TDS/SDS if available.
- Material, operation, tool and lubricant-delivery method.
- Requested pack size, quantity and delivery location.
- Documents or equipment approvals that your purchasing and workplace teams require.
FLUTEX can review an enquiry for the listed cutting-fluid category. Availability, specification, documents and suitability must be confirmed for the product actually quoted.
Is this a FLUTEX product data sheet?
No. This is a purchasing checklist. It supplies no viscosity, flash point, dosage, composition, certification or equipment approval for a FLUTEX product. Ask for the current product-specific documents.
Can I dilute or mix an oil because it is called cutting oil?
Do not infer mixing or dilution instructions from a category name. Follow the exact product and equipment documentation, and obtain confirmation before changing the current fluid.
